Review: Sonia Kashuk Instructional Palette - Neutrals

SONIA KASHUK INSTRUCTIONAL PALETTE

Today on The Lovely Nerds I am bringing you a review of a "drugstore" gem, Sonia Kashuk's Instructional Palette - Neutrals. Want to see more? Keep reading -->

I purchased this product recently at Target after seeing some raves about it online. There are tons of neutral and nude eyeshadow palettes out there, but there seems to be a lack of decent quality matte neutrals available in palette form. This little palette is 12 completely matte neutral shadows. It retails for $19.99 at most Targets that carry the Sonia Kashuk line.

I do not have many complaints about this product, most of the shades have wonderful pigmentation and they are smooth. A couple of the shades were a bit chalky, but nothing too bad.

This palette has a slide out compartment with instructional sheets in it for how to do three separate eye looks. The slide out is a little annoying, it doesn't slide out smoothly but that could just be my palette. The sheets are on rings and you flip them up to go through them, they don't flip very easily as the holes are square.

Several of these palettes on the shelves at my store were shattered, so I'm afraid the packaging isn't of the greatest quality.

Each shade in this palette is labeled with a number above the pan. No actual shade names are listed. The pigmentation, as you can see, is quite nice with all of these shades. This includes the matte black. Now, it's not the blackest black out there, but it is nice. The second shade from the left is almost identical to my skin tone so that will make a lovely blending color for those of you with similar tones.

The only shade that disappointed me in the pigmentation department is the matte grey. It's still a very lovely color, but it takes a little more work.

THE GOOD:
« The price.
« The size.

THE BAD:
« The packaging.

ITS JUST ALRIGHT:
« Pigment of that grey shadow.

OVERALL:
I feel that this 20.00 palette is a wonderful companion for any of the neutral/nude palettes out there. It goes well with the UD Naked palettes, TF Naked and Natural Eye and the Nyx Butt Naked palette. I think it will be a fantastic addition for any of those neutral lovers out there.

Rating:
Use: 4/5
Packaging: 2/5
Price: $
Repurchase? If I were to finish it(Hah) or break it, yes.

Thanks for reading :)
