Viva Glam Cyndi Dupe?

I've seen written on the internet on more than one occasion that Mac's Viva Glam Cyndi is undupeable, I've also read the names of some possible dupes. Recently, I was in Walgreens and saw one of them sitting on the shelf so I picked it up to see for myself. 

The name of this possible dupe is Nivea's Kiss of Cherry lip balm. 

I will tell you that right off the bat my thoughts were that this is far too sheer to look anything like Cyndi. I will also tell you that the cherry smell is very strong. It also seems like there was too much glossy sheen to it for it to be a dupe.

Looking at these swatches you can see why I pegged it as too sheer to be a dupe. Swatched next to each other, these two products look NOTHING alike.

 

This is a swatch of Viva Glam Cyndi on the lips.

And here is a swatch of Nivea Kiss of Cherry on the lips.

As you can see, it is far more sheer than Cyndi, but does give a similar effect on the lips. Would I call this a dupe? Not really, but I would say that it could serve as a suitable replacement if you cannot get your hands on Cyndi.
