Review: Sugarpill Burning Heart Quad

SUGARPILL BURNING HEART QUAD REVIEW

Today on The Lovely Nerds I am bringing you a little review of the Sugarpill Burning Heart quad. Want to know more? Keep reading -->

This palette is available for purchase from a couple of online etailers and from Sugarpill's shop. You can view this palette here. It sells online for $34.00 plus shipping.

At first sight, this palette is <3. The colors are bright and vibrant. The packaging is nice, the mirror is a good size and the magnet is strong. The colors blend well with slight exception of the red shade, Love +. It was slightly harder to blend. Actually, when I received this palette the red was severely lacking in pigmentation compared to the others and I had to switch it out with a single Love + I'd purchased around a year ago. The yellow shade, Buttercup Cake, is also a little lacking in pigmentation, but it is workable.

A huge plus about this palette is the fact you can easily depot it without ruining the palette. Underneath the label on the back are little holes in the palette. You can easily put a pin through the hole and the shadows pop right out. They are magnetized instead of glued in. Wonderful idea on Sugarpill's part!

Swatched dry, no primer: Flamepoint, Buttercup Cake, Love +(the one that came in the quad) and Poison Plum.

No issues with Flamepoint and Poison Plum in the pigmentation department. With that said, these shadows are a little on the chalky side and they do kick up a lot of powder when you put your brush into the shadow. They apply well, and blend out very well.

I've used this quad once so far and was very pleased with its performance. That is, after replacing the defective red shadow.

Overall, I enjoy Sugarpill products and will likely be purchasing more in the future.

THE GOOD:
« The packaging. Its wonderful.
« The easy way you can depot this palette.

THE BAD:
« The apparent inconsistency in pigmentation/quality of some palettes produced.

ITS JUST ALRIGHT:
« The size. The pans are large, which could be good and could be bad. You may never finish it. The palette is a decent, travel-friendly size, but I would prefer it be a bit smaller.

OVERALL:
I do love these shadows, and I want more. I can easily understand the raves about this product and I would recommend it to anyone who loves bright colors.

RATING:
Overall: 4/5
Price: $$
Quality: 4/5
Repurchase? Undecided.

Thanks for reading :D
